A mobile snack-ordering app for movie theater guests
ReelBitez is a mobile app concept designed to help moviegoers order snacks quickly and easily without missing trailers, waiting in long concession lines, or feeling rushed before the movie starts.
ReelBitez was created to improve the movie theater concession experience. Instead of forcing guests to wait in line right before a showing, the app allows users to browse snacks, view deals, place an order, and choose a pickup or delivery option that fits their visit.
The goal was to create an experience that felt simple, familiar, and useful while still having a fun movie-inspired visual style.
Moviegoers often have limited time before a movie begins. Long concession lines can make the experience stressful, especially when guests are trying to buy snacks, find their theater, and get seated before the movie starts.
This creates a clear user pain point: people want snacks, but do not want the concession process to interrupt the movie experience.

Stephanie’s feedback highlighted how timing can create confusion during the moviegoing experience. This helped reinforce the need for clear theater details, visible showtime information, and a snack-ordering flow that helps users feel confident before they arrive.
My process included researching current competition, identifying user needs, creating paper and digital wireframes, building prototypes, testing the experience, and refining the final design based on usability and clarity.
The main focus throughout the project was keeping the ordering flow simple while making sure the app still felt visually connected to the movie theater experience.
One of the most important design decisions was placing the theater location near the top of the screen so users could feel confident they were ordering from the correct theater.
I also created clear navigation categories, including Dealz, Menu, Merch, Cart, and Settings, so users could quickly understand where to go without overthinking the experience.
The Dealz section was made highly visible because discounts and featured offers are often important motivators for users ordering food.
The visual style was inspired by classic movie theater design, but I kept the layout clean so the app would still feel modern, readable, and easy to use.
The final ReelBitez prototype includes a complete snack-ordering flow where users can browse items, select options, review their cart, and receive confirmation after placing an order.
The design focuses on speed, clarity, and convenience while adding a sense of personality through movie-inspired visuals.
ReelBitez helped me think more critically about how timing, clarity, and confidence affect the user experience. The project challenged me to design an ordering flow that felt fast and simple while still giving users the information they needed before arriving at the theater.
The final design balances convenience, visual personality, and usability in a way that supports the moviegoing experience instead of interrupting it.
